SMDI was commissioned by MNTC in 2000 to conduct a market segment study for the North Luzon Expressway (NLE). The main objectives of the study were two-fold, i.e., a) quantify the volume of expressway users, quantify market segment distribution and define the characteristics and socio-economic profile of each segment; and b) determine the market’s preferences on expressway facilities, services and toll collection system.
