Makati CBD Transportation and Traffic Study (1994 & 1988)

The Makati CBD is the country’s primary link to the international business community. With the transportation problems plaguing Metro Manila, further development of Makati CBD would be ill-planned without taking into consideration its associated impact on the transportation network.

So in 1994, Ayala Land, Inc. commissioned SMDI, in association with Ove-Arup and Partners Ltd. of Hongkong, to undertake this transportation and traffic study. The study team formulated a comprehensive transportation and traffic management plan for the Makati Central Business District (CBD), analyzed the CBD’s development thresholds, reviewed transport and traffic planning standards and infrastructure recommendations, using the SATURN transport model.
