CBPI-A SM Mall of Asia Traffic Impact Study and Detailed Intersection Design and Traffic Control Study (2000)

The Central Business Park 1, Island A (CBP1-A) is a 200-hectare mixed-use development whose major components are SM/Mall of Asia, Public Estate Authority (PEA), Metrobank and Titan. It is located inside the Boulevard 2000 development project, a 1,500-hectare reclaimed area along the coast of Manila Bay from the CCP Complex to the Coastal Road – Las Piñas area. It has six (6) components, one of which is the Central Business Park 1, Island A (CBP1-A), which is a 200-hectare mixed-use development with predominant commercial uses.

SMDI was engaged by SM Prime Holdings, Inc. in 2000 to conduct a traffic impact assessment and detailed intersection design of the CBPI-A. The objectives of the study are to: a) determine the existing road and traffic conditions of Metro Manila roads which link with the study area; b) determine future conditions of the study area based on the proposed land-use development; c) prepare a traffic circulation/management plan during full operations on target year 2010; and d) prepare a detailed intersection design of traffic control facilities.
