SMDI Through the Years

Why Choose Us?

Over the years, SMDI has compiled a broad spectrum of completed projects and an enviable track record in the very specialized fields of transportation and traffic engineering, as well as regional and urban planning. These include the development of comprehensive traffic/transportation data base and planning methodologies and conduct of various specialized studies for roads, tollways, railways, ports, airports, public transportation (LRT/jeepneys/buses), and urban/rural/regional development projects.  As can be gleaned from its inventory of projects, SMDI’s traffic engineering and  planning studies have come up with sound traffic management plans, addressing such concerns as:  infrastructure planning, traffic management and control facilities, traffic signals, parking facilities and operations, traffic circulation and access, geometric improvements of road sections and intersections, pedestrian movement and queueing, public transport loading/unloading facilities, intermodal linkages, parking demand and facilities.

In 2000, SMDI became the sole distributor in the Philippines of specialized traffic software products developed by the PTV Group of Germany. The PTV Group is a 42-year old multinational company that provides state–of–the–art technologies and consulting services for transport and logistics. Be it transport routes or structures, private or public transport – they plan and optimize everything which moves people and goods worldwide. The PTV software packages distributed by SMDI are user-friendly tools for the thorough evaluation of various alternatives based on transportation engineering and planning measures of effectiveness. These software technologies are:
