Greenhills Center Traffic Masterplan Simulation Study (2019)
SMDI was tasked to develop a microsimulation model of Greenhills Center in San Juan City to identify the traffic bottlenecks in the study area and propose solutions to address these issues together with the planned redevelopment of the iconic shopping complex. This model is the 2019 base scenario that served as the foundation for all future traffic forecasts. Congestion was observed along Ortigas Avenue corridor causing queues to extend to the intersecting roads. i.e., Wilson, Conneticut and Club Filipino, which confirms what is happening on the ground.
Traffic Impact Study for the NSCR Extension – Nagtahan Link (2021)
This simulation model evaluated the traffic conditions during the construction period of the proposed NSCR Extension – Nagtahan Link by 2025. This scheme presented a scenario where the elevated segment of Paco – Santa Mesa Road connecting to Quirino Highway will be demolished and the bridge crossing Pasig River will be converted to one lane per direction to give way to the construction of the project. This model suggested that the changes in the infrastructure yielded minimal effect to Paco – Santa Mesa Road but congestion is still observed along the major thoroughfares.
